Fifteen women received gift bags of pocket flashlights, snacks, socks, gloves, hats and toiletries. We served an Italian "feast" of pasta with various sauces, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, juices, tea and an
array of desserts.

The Reception & Presentation by
Audrey Lynne Cook Was Well Attended

Date:  October 26, 2019
Thanks to Carmel Maker Space & Mike Buffo

Audrey Lynne Cook will show recent additions to her Guardians series.
“The Guardians; Primal and Present Icons”

This collection focuses on how we tend to need something outside ourselves to pray to, looking beyond our inner divinity.  Some of her work shows a meeting of current icons, including those on the computer keyboard, and various symbols for fashion and fast foods juxtaposed with ancient icons, from various cultures and belief systems.  The Tree of Knowledge (shown above) is one of her renditions of the Garden of Eden.  There are a few references to snakes, the primary one being the river of sight, which subtly winds around the tree leading to and beyond the central mandala, reminiscent of kundalini.

Meaningful Life Practices

For Embracing Death & Dying

With Heather Parsons

A Lambourne Institute for Life Mastery Workshop
Thanks to all who attended.  It was a great workshop.

Picture
Join long time Certified Death Midwife, End-of-Life Doula and death rights activist, Heather Parsons for a weekend of profound, personal exploration into the gifts of mortality and the blessings in cultivating a relationship to life’s final passage.

Trusting in our Soul's intelligence, we dive deep into the truth of our eternal journey. We will share a safe and sacred container to voice our concerns and insights, addressing the issues that arise when facing our own death and serving others as they navigate the practical and mystical realms inherent in death’s dominion.

Dyads, small group practices and up to date info on California’s right to die laws and local green burial. Poetry, stories and music to nourish the heart.

TESTIMONIALS FROM RECENT WORKSHOPS WITH HEATHER PARSONS

"Heather Parsons is a very important guiding light in this field and brings to it a deep experience with guiding the dying and their families through the process.  She shares what she’s learned from Her work and her training with experts like Ram Das, Joan Halifax, Frank Ostaseski, Stephan Jenkinson, etc.

In our workshop Heather helped us explore our fears, our assumptions, our ignorance, our insecurity about death.  Through talks, experiential exercises, guided meditations, and videos, and with an understanding heart, she helped us deepen our understanding about the process of dying, helped us to realize how rich our relationship with death can be, and opened our eyes to alternative ways of dealing with the details of dying.  She helped us to prepare ourselves for what is inevitable and can be profoundly spiritual, meaningful, and beautiful."

Richard Veielle PhD

"Since Heather’s class, my attitude towards death and dying has changed completely.  Before, I ignored it; dreaded it; feared it for sure.  Being raised Catholic, I always had a fear of not making it into heaven.  And then,
for 26 years (the time I was married) I was a born again Christian and I worked so hard spreading the Word; going to Bible studies; going door to door; speaking in tongues; you name it, I did it and still, I feared death.

So, as much as I was worried about the afterlife, I never gave any thought to the actual dying part and how important that is.  Watching "A Family Undertaking" showed me how beautiful a death that was given some thought can ease the pain and have the death experience be one of cherishing and love and goodbyes."

Mary Miller

"Death and Dying activism is alive and well, thanks to Heather Parsons, and other revolutionaries, who are working to transform the death industry with a much-needed infusion of spirituality and compassion. Heather’s offering, Cultivating a Living Relationship with Death, was both comforting and inspirational for me. Radiating calm and loving acceptance, I enjoyed how Heather gently led the group with shared stories, interactive exercises and film. I found the classes transformative on two different levels; the class created an opportunity go within and review my priorities, my health directive and my end of life plan through a spiritual lens, and I found it empowering to be introduced to a new world of more natural and more inclusive alternatives to caring for the dying and the dead, many of them revivals of our own family traditions enhanced with new technology. Thank you, Heather, for your kind and illuminating service."

Susie Joyce, Hospice Volunteer and Threshold Choir Director

“These classes are well structured, profoundly moving, and inspiring us to open to the possibilities of our own passing. Heather integrates the practical and the mystical - the impact is transformative.”

Dr. Arlene Krebs

"Heather is a luminary when it comes to this class. Her experience in the beauty of the death process opened my eyes to other possibilities and to thoughts of my own death and planning in an experiential way. Heather shows compassion for our experience along with the opportunity of insight into helping our loved ones when it is their time to transition. A deep class that opened my eyes and heart. I would recommend taking this class with Heather."

Sheri Parelskin Minister

"Taking the class was a wonderful gift for myself.
I was somewhat afraid of death until I came to your class.

"One of the most important things I learned was death will be what you want it to be.  If u don't think there's anything after death that is what u will get.
It is so powerful to know that I can have wishes for my death and they will be honored."

Sandra Hammond RN

"With fierce, loving advocacy to sacred, tender holding, you create a container for real-life deathing which, in fact, is real-life living. A powerful awakener, you summon love, action, urgency toward guiding and honoring the process of deathing which I engage in the here and now. In a culture that has mechanized what happens to us before, during and after death, I am much better equipped to step into a more confident, humane and compassionate role attending my beloveds' passing and my own. Truly, not many concerns are higher than our relationship to death. I am glad to have made the time for these challenging and deep considerations alongside your insistent presence -- one that has accompanied so many on this sacred path."

Laura Siedenberg

"This was the best work I did for myself since the death of my husband. Heather is a gifted facilitator whose delivery wakes us up to the reality of the dying process. It is at the top of my wish list that Every one I love and know take this workshop"

Joan Zelinski
